Monday - Friday 8:00 - 16:30 Office Ferhadija 27, 71000 Sarajevo

15.11.2022.

We are happy to announce that numerous experts will meet on Thursday 17 November, at 10:30am CET in an event organized by Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma (UCBM).

Based on concrete data and experiences regarding the global disparity in access to essential health services, the importance of working closely with NGOs and United Nations to reduce this gap and facilitate the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals will be discussed.

Prof. Leandro Pecchia will givekeynote speech entitled "Biomedical engineering for global health and sustainable development".

“According to the WHO, more than 50% of the world's population does not have access to essential health services. In Africa there are many challenges that contribute to causing this gap, including the shortage of specialized doctors, hospital standards different from those in Europe, supply problems, and then also economic problems. In this short speech, I will try to give concrete examples of how biomedical engineering is trying to face these challenges in the short and medium term, while helping Africa to overcome these and other issues in a sustainable and permanent way.”

Subsequently, a round table will be held to discuss training, research and multidisciplinary innovations for the Sustainable Development.

The moderator will be the journalist of the newspaper Il Sole 24 ORE Eugenio Bruno.

Moderator će biti novinar dnevnog lista Il Sole 24 ORE, Eugenio Bruno.
