One of the leading global publishing houses, Springer Nature, has released the second edition of the book titled "Medical Device Inspection," a result of collaboration among authors from around the world, including the Verlab Institute team. Since the publication of the first edition in 2017, this book has become a global reference in the field of medical device inspection. Thanks to the support of readers and the dedication of international collaborators, it has gained the status of one of the best-selling editions in the Springer library.
In this updated edition, the complexities of the life cycle of medical devices are explored, with a special emphasis on the importance of legal metrology in the context of the healthcare industry and the prominent significance of standardized approaches to compliance assessment. The authors carefully analyze the challenges and opportunities in managing databases for monitoring medical devices, while highlighting the potential of digitization, data standardization, and predictive maintenance strategies. We are particularly proud of the addition to the chapter that addresses the application of artificial intelligence in maintenance management and performance prediction of medical devices – an innovative concept presented globally. Members of the Verlab Institute also contributed to the development of this chapter.

Jedna od vodećih svjetskih izdavačkih kuća, Springer Nature, objavila je drugo izdanje knjige pod nazivom "Inspekcija medicinskih uređaja", rezultat saradnje autora iz cijelog svijeta, uključujući tim Verlab Instituta. Od objavljivanja prvog izdanja 2017. godine, ova knjiga postala je globalna referenca u području inspekcije medicinskih uređaja. Zahvaljujući podršci čitatelja i predanosti međunarodnih saradnika, stekla je status jednog od najprodavanijih izdanja u Springerovoj biblioteci.
U ovom ažuriranom izdanju, istražuju se kompleksnosti životnog ciklusa medicinskih uređaja, s posebnim naglaskom na važnosti pravne metrologije u kontekstu zdravstvene industrije, te istaknutom značaju standardiziranih pristupa procjeni usklađenosti. Autori pažljivo analiziraju izazove i mogućnosti upravljanja bazama podataka za nadzor medicinskih uređaja, istovremeno naglašavajući potencijal digitalizacije, standardizacije podataka, te strategija prediktivnog održavanja. Posebno smo ponosni na dodatak u poglavlju koje obrađuje primjenu umjetne inteligencije u upravljanju održavanjem i predviđanju performansi medicinskih uređaja – inovativni koncept predstavljen na globalnoj razini. U izradi ovog poglavlja učestvovali su i članovi Verlab Instituta.
