Pilot program to support the digital transformation of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) by CDT Verlab Institute is being implemented with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) and the endorsement of the European Union and the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ) in accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation of the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship, and Crafts, the Research Institute Verlab for Biomedical Engineering, Medical Devices, and Artificial Intelligence, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
There has been tremendous interest in this program, evidenced by the fact that more than 50 MSMEs of various sizes have applied. The registered MSMEs belong to diverse industries and are located in different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, indicating the breadth and significance of the need for digital transformation in the country's business sector.
The initial phase of the pilot program includes consultancy workshops for the first 5 companies. Certified consultants from CDT Serbia and CDT Verlab Institute lead these workshops with the aim of conducting expert analysis and developing strategies. The outcome of this phase is the definition of a priority project for each company, which will then be implemented in the next phase of the program with a subsidy of up to 5,000 KM.
This support model will soon be applied to another 5 companies selected to participate in the program. It is expected that the results of this program will not only be visible in improving the business performance of the participating companies but also in stimulating the overall economic development of the country. Considering the wide geographical scope and significant number of registered companies, it is evident that there is a strong interest and need to continue such initiatives in the future to ensure further strengthening of digital capacities and competitiveness of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian economy.
